I had the privilege to speak with Elsie when I first contacted Healthfirst about 15 years ago. She was a nurse case manager at the time. She was so charismatic, that you could not help but like her. She was a special person. Caring and understanding. I felt a friendship growing. My job had branched out and I had not spoken to her in a while. But, I finally contacted her and found out that she was homeless for 2 weeks because of 9/11. She did not complain and went about helping me. That was how Elsie was. I again had not spoken to her in a while. I called Healthfirst and mentioned her name to a rep. I was told that she had passed away. I could not believe such a wonderful person was taken away. I truly was so upset. I did not ask any details as to her passing out of respect. I just wanted to say how much she will be missed. She was a joy to know, even just over the phone. Thanks Elsie.
